About the Competition:

StudentCam is C-SPAN’s annual, national video documentary competition for middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12) students. We encourage students to critically analyze an issue of interest and create a short (5-8 minute) documentary about that topic.

StudentCam Quotes:

“The kids loved it. For them it was about creating memorable and engaging learning experiences. We took the art of research and storytelling and applied them to 21st Century learning skills.”

“I've had parents calling me to thank me for doing this and telling me that their children learned so much. I've seen myself the learning that goes on with this project; not only on subject matter but on technology and cooperative skills. This is one project I am not letting go!”

"This is the sort of thing that he'll remember his whole life, of course, and it's life-changing. You can be sure that you've had a formidable impact on this young man, in part because of the honor of the award, but in larger part because he experienced what it's like to make a difference in something important.
